Atlanta Falcons Playoff Chances

A 7-10 record last year didn't exactly inspire confidence. And so, the Atlanta Falcons opted for a coaching change, bringing in Raheem Morris in place of Arthur Smith, who landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

The Falcons had a strong draft, the puzzling Michael Penix Jr. pick notwithstanding. Defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro appears to be a resolute run defender and Bralen Trice was also good value in the third round. But the biggest move the Falcons made was in free agency, bringing Kirk Cousins to town, though they had to pay a $250,000 fine and sacrifice a fifth-round pick. 

All things considered, our playoff chances algorithm has the Falcons at an 80% chance of making the playoffs outright.
